ENTRUST runs a number of training events each year, including basic training and open days. These events help people learn more about the Landfill Communities Fund (LCF), how it is run and what their obligations are under the Landfill Tax Regulations 1996 (Regulations).
In March 2016 we updated our guidance manual to reflect the changes in the LCF after the Government's reform of the fund. Our training events will give all of the latest information to support EBs, whether they are new to the LCF or looking for a refresher.
We have recently released the dates for all of our training events and open days in 2016. Our next available training date is Wednesday 18 May. The training will be held at our offices in Leamington Spa and places are available to book now.
Our Environmental Body (EB) training days have been designed in line with feedback from EBs on last year's training programme, our training strategy and our Corporate Plan. Our basic training sessions cover the following areas:
- what the Landfill Communities Fund (LCF) is and how it works;
- who ENTRUST are and what we do;
- what projects can be approved and how this happens;
- what you must do now that you are an EB; and
- open forum and questions.
Our basic courses are suitable for people from new EBs to new staff joining established EBs or for those who would simply like a refresher on the LCF. For more information about the types of training we offer please visit the Attending Training Events page of our website.
Our open days provide an opportunity for new and existing EBs to meet with the ENTRUST team and find out more about the LCF and our role and responsibilities within it. Open days start with a tour of our offices followed by area specific workshops with plenty of opportunities for questions throughout the day and a chance to speak one to one on any issues you wish to resolve. Held annually our next open day will be on Thursday 30 June and you can book your place here.
If you can't make any of the training dates, you can use the booking form to register an interest and we will contact you to talk about your needs. You can also access the Finding Training Resources page of our website which features information, guides and videos to help support you.
