Responsibility for the new Welsh Landfill Tax will be transferred to the Welsh Government on 1 April 2018. This impacts on the LCF in Wales which will also cease after 31 March 2018. There will be a transitional period which will end on 31 March 2020.
We are running an event in Cardiff on Tuesday 3 October 2017 to provide advice and guidance to Environmental Bodies (EBs) operating in Wales. The event will inform EBs about:
- The last date for LCF projects in Wales to be registered, and completed;
- The last date for LCF monies to be spent in Wales;
- The reporting requirements during the transitional closure period; and
- What actions EBs should take following the closure of the LCF in Wales.
The event will be held on Tuesday 3 October 2017 between 1.30pm and 4.30pm, at Sport Wales National Centre, Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, CF11 9SW. Coffee and tea will be provided. The venue is centrally located and a 15 minute walk from Cardiff Central train station. There is limited car parking on site. Further details, including local car parks, will be provided with your booking information. If you would like to attend please complete our training booking link.
If there is sufficient interest from EBs based in North Wales we will also schedule a workshop to run in the north of the country later in October/early November. Please email helpline@entrust.org.uk to register your interest.
Further information about the closure of the LCF in Wales, including HMRC's briefing note, can be read on the Wales page of the ENTRUST website.
