At our April board meeting we welcomed a new Non-Executive Director to our board; Gerry McCormack.
Gerry brings with him a broad business experience at Board level in both the private and public sector, including 12 successful years on the Board of a Housing Association bringing private sector expertise to bear on a business moving across the public sector spectrum. His early professional background was as an audit practitioner and throughout his plc career as Group Finance Director he had direct involvement at Executive level with the Audit committee.
As a senior executive in a wide range of companies, Gerry also has regular involvement with the Human Resources functions of each organisation. Much of Gerry’s professional life has centred on regulatory processes among which include The London Stock Exchange, the Homes and Communities Agency (formerly the Housing Corporation) and the Education Funding Agency for the Department for Education.
Announcing the appointment, Dr Ann Limb OBE DL, ENTRUST Chair said: “In line with best governance practice, following a fully transparent and open recruitment process, Gerry has been appointed to ENTRUST’s Board to replace a retiring Board member. Gerry brings a wealth of experience from operating in a number of different sectors as both a Senior Executive and Non Executive Director. I consider given his knowledge and experience, he will be a valuable addition to both ENTRUST and the Landfill Communities Fund.”
