Winsford – New Images Youth & Community Centre Roof

The project aims to provide a new roof for New Images Youth & Community Centre. The applicants would like to convert the current ‘cold’ flat roof to a ‘warm’ roof. A warm roof is a type of roofing system that involves insulation placed on top of the rafters to keep the interior of the building warm and dry. It conserves heat by placing insulation on top of the roof deck instead of between the rafters, and is designed to both insulate and ventilate. The addition of appropriate insulation will minimise heat loss and provide effective thermal protection; this should help to reduce energy bills, reduce disruption to users and reduce maintenance costs.
