West Glamorgans Wild Woodlands

West Glamorgan’s Wild Woodlands will restore woodland biodiversity at a landscape scale across West Glamorgan. It will achieve this by addressing long term under-management across twelve sites in the management control of The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales (WTSWW). Wales is one of the least wooded countries in Europe, placing a conservation priority upon this habitat. This project will address these issues and restore and enhance twelve wooded sites (totalling 129.4ha). The twelve sites are key linkages in the woodland landscape connectivity / network from Gower, Swansea and Neath Port Talbot, which is a recognised woodland network of national significance. Their potential as biodiversity hotspots to enhance biodiversity in the wider network will be realised.
