The Upgrade of Hartlepool BMX Track

The project will fully redevelop and improve the existing BMX track at Summerhill, Hartlepool. This will include creating 4 new straights and 3 new tarmaced berms. There will also be improved drainage and spectator areas. The effect of the works will be to establish one of the premier BMX racing facilities in the country able to host regional and national competitions. Secondly it will enable training and development in the Olympic sport of BMX racing. Thirdly it will make ongoing maintenance easier and more cost effective. Finally it will provide a free and open access resource available for anyone who wants to enjoy the sport.
