St Mary’s Church Burry Port

St Mary’s church is a grade 2 listed, neo gothic building set within landscaped gardens. The church is an architectural icon with a large congregation but is also used extensively by many local groups and organisations in Burry Port and the surrounding area. Phase 2 of a major renovation project has recently got underway with a budget of £379K (fully funded) and scheduled for completion in July 2011. It was intended to leave the original oil fired heating system in place but there is now a realisation that a modern, energy efficient installation would better serve the new amenity in the long term. This application relates to a new gas fired central heating system as a discrete element of the project.
