Sea2it Marine Plastic & Skate Conservation Action

Through a suite of sea-based, inclusive volunteer activities, Sea2it will demonstrably remove and appropriately dispose of marine litter within and around the Skerries and Causeway MSAC. In addition, it will provide volunteer participants and groups with the skills, knowledge, and equipment necessary to maintain volunteer led sea-based marine litter collection and skate tagging and monitoring activities beyond the life of Landfill Community Fund support. Sea2it’s proposal is an environmentally, economically, and socially sustainable approach to tackling marine litter and monitoring the population of critically endangered skate. Its legacy will be a well-resourced, knowledgeable and inspired volunteer community which both independently and collectively, routinely tackles marine environmental and conservation issues in the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council area. This will enhance the natural environment and protect the natural heritage of this internationally recognised coastline.
