Saughton Park

This project seeks to restore the once nationally famous Rose Garden at Saughton Park, Edinburgh which has been part of the garden since it was first taken into ownership by the Council in 1900 and was once the home of National Rose trials. It is planned to create part of the rose garden as the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Rose garden. This section of the garden will be planted with a selection of heritage shrub and climbing roses. The Council is in the process of developing a Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF)application aimed at renovating the park and garden, highlighting the park’s heritage, and promoting it as a major visitor attraction.
