Saintfield Community Assoc – Regeneration of SCC

The organisation is established to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Saintfield and surrounding areas. The project will see the organisation undertake a significant regeneration project which will transform a disused building, on site of Saintfield Community Centre, into a multi purpose social, community and recreational space.

The community of Saintfield, as well as communities across Mid Down, will benefit from the increased provision of high quality, multi-purpose space that is readily available at a rate which is affordable for regular use by community and voluntary groups. The project addresses an identified deficit of quality space across the wider Rowallane District Electoral Area and Greater Belfast.
The increased availability of space will give Saintfield Community Association, as well as existing users, the capacity to extend the frequency and diversity of community outreach initiatives held at the Centre. It will also stand to increase the breadth of community services available to the communities of Saintfield and neighbouring towns by attracting new users and activities.
A key social benefit associated with this project will be the enhanced health and wellbeing benefits which will emerge from increased participation in regular recreational and fitness activities.
