Replacement vessel to serve as the Swansea Community Boat

The present Swansea Community Boat is a flat bottomed boat licensed by the Maritime Coastguard Agency to operate on canals and rivers. During the first full season in 2012, numerous trips had to be cancelled due to wind speeds that affected the handling of the boat. The Trust expects full bookings for the 2013 season, apart from the days when the weather is really inclement, but the existing craft is not fit for purpose.
We plan to purchase a boat that can operate effectively in windy conditions and also have a number of enhanced features such as larger windows (and reduced cabin roof) to facilitate more effective viewing of the heritage features along the river bank.
