Micklefield Recreation Ground – New Toddler Playground

The project aims to create a vibrant Toddler Playground in Micklefield Recreation Ground for very young children and their families.
The main Juniors Playground in Micklefield (Diamond Jubilee Play Area) is in the Recreation Ground, but there is no play equipment in that location specifically for toddlers and infants. Families with children in different age groups need them to be able to play in the same location and the project will provide a dedicated play facility for very young children and their families/carers, complementing the existing open-plan Juniors Play Area.
Works include installation of various play equipment and surfacing. LCF funding is towards:
Supply and installation of: 4 bay swing unit, with 3 cradle seats and 1 ‘Tango’ seat; Large Uni-Mini Vattern multi play unit; ‘Rota Roka’ swivel dish; ‘Nexus Whizzer’ hula stick; ‘Springtime’ multi-user see-saw; ‘Prinsy’ Springer; ‘Spiral yellow’ roundabout; Low level balance beam and 2 rubber stepping stones; A pair of talk tubes and a post mounted ‘Tic Tac Toe’ Play panel.
Supply and laying of 232m2 of 40mm depth wetpour safety surfacing (black with block colours) and 47m2 of 50mm depth wetpour safety surfacing (black with block colours), being a total area of 279m2 of wetpour.
