Garthorpe – New Community Kitchen

The project aims to provide a community kitchen at Garthorpe Village Hall. The physical works will comprise:
Site clearance and preparation;
Construction of an c.40m2 single-story extension, with flat roof, at rear of existing hall, with plumbing and drainage;
Electrical works to the existing hall and extension, to bring whole into compliance with current Regulations;
Construction of doorway and serving hatch connecting new kitchen to existing main hall;
Consequential changes to existing fire door;
Fitting of internal wipe-down hygienic wall & floor covering;
Assembly and fitting of kitchen units, washing facilities, work tables and storage cupboard.
The extension will have its own entrance which will be wheelchair accessible. The applicants plan on using flexible work units (including work tables with no shelves) that can be used by someone in a wheelchair or who finds standing difficult.
