Extension to Pennard Library

Pennard Library which also supports surrounding Gower communities is threatened with closure unless support is received from the community to both increase the usage of the facility and to take over and maintain the present building. The community is eager to maintain its library and to ensure its sustainability. So needing to facilitate and encourage greater diversity of usage of the library building . . It is situated in a hub which includes a doctors surgery, chemist, school, nursery, community hall and swimming pool. The coffee shop, renovated library and associated facilities would be of great benefit to all users of the hub.

In order to achieve these aims the Friends of Pennard Library have proposed the building of an extension to the present library building to provide facilities for disabled users, a coffee shop( to raise funds and increase the footfall), plus additional office accommodation for hiring to local and service organisations… Please see sheet.
