Encouraging the Presence of Local Biodiversity Action Plan Species at Cwmysgyfarnog Farm

A pond will be excavated within wet pasture to provide a link habitat between an area of wet woodland and the River Dulais. Terrestrial refugia will also be created. The pond will attract the prey of local biodiversity action plan species such as otters and red kites. The faunal composition of the woodland will be encouraged using bat and bird boxes together with dormice boxes and tubes. The presence of brown hairstreak butterflies will be determined and its population encouraged through planting and management of the hedgerows
