Embercombe, Higher Ashton, Exeter – The Linhay

The objective of Embercombe is to inspire people to take action towards a sustainable world. The intention is to build a Devonshire Linhay from which and Land Based Learning Centre will be run as the heart of a landbased learning intitiative. The project will enhance and develop the facilities and bio-diversity at Embercome. This will be 300 square metres of indoor space inside a flagship building for sustainable construction, energy-saving and waste treatment technology, built with materials from the surounding landscape and housing workshops an eating area & food storage, and animals. It will meet demand, help make the work available to people and be accessible to all. It will be used to provide skills, work experience and educational programmes that promote learning for sustainability to individuals, businesses, families, colleges, schools and young adults locally and throughout the UK.
