Eagley Tennis Club Regeneration

The application is aimed at replacing two shale tennis courts, often unusable, with all-weather courts and replacing dilapidated fencing. ETC is a small, community-based members’ club. The new tennis committee has resolved to develop the club facilities to a high standard to encourage new members to take up a sport for the first time. We are particularly aiming to recruit juniors and keen to support Sport England’s campaign to encourage young girls to take up sporting activities. To this end we have linked up with Bolton Arena, the premier tennis establishment in the North of England who will provide free coaching for four local schools on our courts. To demonstrate our commitment to the development project, we have recently spent £11,000 in the last month, a large proportion of our sinking fund, to erect new fencing and replace lighting on our existing all-weather courts
