Creation of Wildlife Corridors to Increase Biodiversity at Panyfen Farm

Spot planting with trees and shrubs within the hedgerow will be carried out to increase species diversity and fill any holes in the hedge. This will maintain the hedgerow’s role at a wildlife corridor. A shallow pond will be excavated near to the ditch to provide a permanent waterbody. Terrestrial areas surrounding the pond will be managed for the aquatic species. Although the pond will not attract local biodiversity action plan species directly, its presence will attract amphibians and reptiles to the habitat. These species are the prey of the LBAP species red kites and otters who are found in the locality
