Camarthen Bay Dune Rejuvenation Project

Sand dunes in Wales have become increasingly vegetated and stabilised leading to a significant loss of open sand (87% of bare sand has been lost over the last 60 years on Welsh dunes) and pioneer dune habitats and species. The dune rejuvenation project aims to restore more dynamic conditions to several of the major Welsh dune systems in South Wales and to increase the amount of pioneer habitat for the specialist plants and invertebrates they support.
