Bowling Green Refurbishment, Swindon Crown Green Bowling Club, Staffs

This is a project to replace the perimeter fencing and to install energy efficient LED anti-glare floodlighting at Swindon Crown Green Bowling Club.

Maintenance of the grounds have been undertaken by volunteer club members since the club
was founded in 2007. Wear and tear has taken its toll on the perimeter fencing, so much so,
the only option now is to replace this with more up to date, low maintenance option kinder to the environment, whilst also preserving and enhancing the green space in which the club is located. The club is committed to the mission of its ‘Local Authority’ in reducing carbon footprint. With this in mind, the club is keen to change the current floodlights for a more energy efficient system.

This project will future proof the facility, whilst enhancing existing infrastructure. Namely: –
• offering a long-term security solution
• aid participation by ‘all’ in the sport
• preserve & enhance surrounding ‘green space’.

South Staffordshire Council recognises the demographic of an aging community as a key priority highlighted in its strategic plan 2024 -2028. The club facility actively contributes towards a healthy transition into retirement and beyond, whilst also promoting ‘Health – Well Being and Sociality’ in the community by providing a high quality, safe sporting facility available to all.
