Environmental Bodies (EBs) are non-profit organisations registered to receive Landfill Communities Fund (LCF) money. To be eligible, the organisation must align with LCF goals and fulfil the following criteria:
Be not-for-profit
Not be controlled by a Landfill Operator (LO) or local authority
Align with LCF's aims and objectives
Operate in England or Northern Ireland
EBs can be non-charitable but must use any surplus funds for their objectives, not as dividends. LCF funds are for projects in England and Northern Ireland only.
To register as an EB:
Use ENTRUST Online (EOL) to submit an application
Provide a copy of your governing document
Pay a £100 non-refundable application fee, covering enrolment costs
Before applying, consult with your funder, as some can register your project. Compliance with The Landfill Tax Regulations 1996 is mandatory.
